HELPING HANDS FOOD PANTRY DISTRIBUTION
Helping Hands Food Pantry is part of a nationwide program, "Feeding America" and a regional program, "God's Pantry." Each Wednesday the Senior Center picks up food donations from local vendors (like Walmart and Kroger) that are ear the expiration date and distributes these items to anyone over 18 years of age who comes to the Center.

DRUMMING AND ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Marchele and Jim will be leading the drumming class--outside if weather permits. Then Dominion will host an old-fashioned ice cream social. 

LORI FARIS, SENIOR SCAMS ALERT

Seniors are among the most vulnerable population to be scammed. And the scammers are able to change their tactics more frequently than we can keep up with. Lori Faris, Attorney General's Office, will discuss the latest senior scams. 

COOKING WITH CHEF SHELLEY
Wednesday, June 27, 10 a.m.
Chef Shelley will check out what items will be available for the Thursday Helping Hands Food Pantry and will give tips about how to use the products and create delicious dishes using what's available. 

PSPL OUTREACH

Miller and Sarah will take us back in history as they inform and entertain us with patriotic songs and information

PATRICK CALVERT MUSIC

Remember when Patrick visited last year? He's coming from Nashville again with his Down Memory Lane tour. He'll play and sing music from the 1800's to 1950's--and more.

TRIP TO EAST FRANKFORT PARK
Friday, July 6, 10 a.m.
Ride the Center bus or just meet us there at 10 a.m. Play croquet, pickle ball, tennis or disc golf. Or just enjoy sitting outside. We'll be going the first Friday of each month.

TRIP TO FARMERS' MARKET
Tuesday, July 10, 10 a.m.
On the second Tuesday of each month, we'll be making a trip to the Farmer's Market. Hop on the bus and check out the wonderful, fresh produce and items available. What's available will be different each week.

VIRTUAL DEMENTIA TOUR
Tuesday, July 10, 1 p.m.
The tour uses sensory tools, research-based instruction and trained facilitators to build greater understanding of individuals living with dementia. Participants are outfitted with devices that alter their senses while they try to complete common everyday tasks and exercises--much like the challenges that persons with dementia face. Hosted by Dominion Senior Living and Kindred at Home, this program is open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Gidgett and our friends from Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension Program will join us to talk about quick and healthy breakfasts and then they'll demonstrate and we'll taste Fantastic French Toast. 

HEPATITIS A INFORMATION

We've heard about the outbreak of Hepatitis A in Kentucky, and now cases have been reported in Frankfort. Jennifer Robinson, Franklin County Health Department, will join us to give us the information we need to know about Hepatitis A.

WATERMELON SEED SPITTING CONTEST

July is National Watermelon Month. So start practicing now for the seed spitting contest--and come eat watermelon.

DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP

Have you been diagnosed with diabetes and have questions about your care and/or diet? In partnership with the Franklin County Health Department, the Center is starting a diabetes support group for people of all ages. It will meet the 4th Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m.
